Crucially, Sharc’s experiences in the mathematics of meshes ensure that the elements created will meet the needs of even the most demanding solvers.

Once in a great while a technology comes along that is so revolutionary that it changes the way people think, act and work – some examples include powered flight, railroads, and the availability of the automobile. We are pleased to be a part of the newest revolutionary technology to produce high-fidelity automatic meshes – Harpoon.
Meshing remains today the primary impediment to productivity gains for automotive CFD simulations. There are recent published results using an advanced, hex-dominant meshing technique incorporated in the commercial program HARPOON for the generation of fluent meshes. Advantages of the methods employed are detailed, and examples of typical internal and external automotive flows from industry are shown. Major reductions in mesh preparation time have been obtained, in some cases reducing meshing effort from several days to less than one hour.
