nCode Is Tough Enough For Steel Company |
|

|
ArcelorMittal , the world’s largest steel company, on the European Commission Research Fund for Coal and Steel Project (RFCS "SpeedFat" Project), has chosen nCode as a partner in their recent Research Project. The primary objective for ArcelorMittal in this project was to develop methods for determining how test signals can be reduced in size for use on test rigs or in computer based fatigue analysis.

Is Car-Testing Accurate? |
|

|
Both lab and on-road physics show undeniable variabilities.
Simulating a car crash with a computer is one of the most demanding tasks. The size and cost of computer models for car-crash analysis is steadily growing. Is it really possible to build safer cars by building larger and more sophisticated computer models? Are there any intrinsic limitations to crashworthiness of automobiles, dictated by the physics involved, which make it impossible to improve performance beyond today’s already high standards?

Ontonix Helps To Predict Heart Failure |
|

|
Studies on the physiology of the cardiovascular system suggested that the generation of the heart rate (HR) signal is governed by nonlinear dynamics. Linear and nonlinear indices of heart rate variability (HRV) have been shown to predict outcomes in heart failure (HF). The aim was to predict clinical responders at 1 year. HR footprint data both at baseline and one year follow up were retrieved and processed with OntoSpace (a product of Ontonix). Now extensive data on HRV can be retrieved through algorithms integrated in implantable devices.

"Engineering, medicine, business, architecture and painting are concerned not with the necessary but with the contingent - not with how things are but with how they might be - in short, with design.”
Herbert Simon quotes (American mathematical social scientist 1916-2001)

“Scientists investigate that which already is; Engineers create that which has never been.”
Albert Einstein

“Scientists dream about doing great things. Engineers do them.”
James A. Michener quotes (U.S. Novelist and short-story writer, 1907?-1997)

“The engineer has been, and is, a maker of history”
James Kip Finch quotes

“Strive for perfection in everything you do. Take the best that exists and make it better. When it does not exist, design it.”
Sir Henry Royce quotes (Sir (Fredrick) Henry Royce British Engineer, 1863-1933)

“Software is a great combination between artistry and engineering. When you finally get done and appreciate what you have done it is like a part of yourself that you have put together.”
Bill Gates quotes (American Entrepreneur and Founder of Microsoft CO.,b.1955)

A good scientist is a person with original ideas. A good engineer is a person who makes a design that works with as few original ideas as possible. There are no prima donnas in engineering.”
Freeman Dyson quotes (English Physicist, b.1923)

"Normal people ... believe that if it ain`t broke, don`t fix it. Engineers believe that if it ain`t broke, it doesn`t have enough features yet.”
Scott Adams quotes (American Cartoonist, b.1957)

“Engineers like to solve problems. If there are no problems handily available, they will create their own problems.”
Scott Adams quotes (American Cartoonist, b.1957)
